I have an '03 Raleigh Grand Pirx and was wondering if I could switch the bb out and replace it with and ultegra without having to switch crank arms, etc. Here are my bikes specs btw:

Frame: 7005 Atomic 13 985 Butted Aluminum Compact Road
Fork: Carbon Road
Headset: OS Threadless
Crankset: TruVative Elita 30/42/52t
Bottom Bracket: Sealed Cartridge
F. Derailleur: Shimano Tiagra
R. Derailleur: Shimano 105
Shift Lever: Shimano Tiagra STI
Cog Set: Shimano Cassette 12/25t 9spd
Chain: KMC Z9000
Hubset: Equation Road Wheelset
Spokes: See Hubset
Rims: See Hubset
Tires: Vittoria Zaffiro 700x25
Brakes: Shimano Sora
Brake Levers: See Shifter
Pedals: Shimano SPD-SL R600 Ultegra
Handlebar: ITM Spider
Grips: Cork
Stem: ITM Spider Threadless -10deg.
Seatpost: ITM Road Racing 27.2 x230mm
Saddle: Selle Itlaia Onda Sudo

Bleh...I have some rather generic parts in there :o

As long as the spindle length and bracket width are the same, I don't see why not.

Is that Truvativ crank Octalink or square taper fit?

The Truvativ Elita crank is ISIS-drive. You can't use an Ultegra BB which is OctaLink. For a comparable ISIS BB to Ultegra, I'd look at the FSA Platinum or Platinum Pro.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that Truvativ crank is lighter and performs better than Ultegra...
