Manufacturer, Retailer, Survey and Consumer Feedback - Bikefront.com - Your opinion sought

Hi everyone

I've recently followed through on my goal to open an online store offering practical bike products that cannot generally be found at your local bike shop. My target audience are commuters and anyone using their bicycle as transportation. My plan isn't to get rich off this, I'm honestly most interested in just getting these products out there (but if I can make a few bucks to pay the rent that would be good too :))

The site is currently online and taking orders but before I start making the advertising rounds, I would really like to hear what you think about it.

Is there something you particularly DO NOT LIKE about the site?

Is there something that it is missing?
Do you feel confident if you were to place an order? I am using Google Checkout, do you feel confident in this service?

- just my $0.02:

- great idea, clean site, easy navigation... however, one of the first things i generally do when shopping on a (new to me) site, is look for a brick-and-mortar (physical) address and phone number - which i then reverse lookup to verify... otherwise i may get queasy...

- i think it's a great idea to carry stuff that other folks don't ... maybe you'll also start carrying some locally made bags, panniers, etc.?

- btw, i recently went into my LBS and couldn't find a Pace skull/sweat cap, or any such item for the less than $20, which i thought was ridiculous... so i made my own! (Pace provides the templates for a variety of header on its site, but the simplest is one that looks like a buff (http://www.buffwear.com/))...

You need more info on the condition of the recycled tubes. Do they have a lot of patches, are the valves good, etc, etc, etc.

Nice looking site. Never knew about those Hebie Chainglider devices, so I'm glad I looked. One person's opinion - FWIW - I would have put the general description for this device on that main page that you get to when you hit the chainguards tab. I was saying to myself, "why isn't there an explanation of this product and how it works", and then I clicked on one of the specific sizes and saw that the product description was there. I think it would be better on the main page, and then either repeat it for each of the specific sizes or just include any additional information that is specific to that size.

I have received several comments from people about the availability of a phone number and address and I will be establishing a phone number and a PO box address.

The products available now are just a start. I will be carrying Xtracycle FreeRadical kits very shortly and hope to expand further with the addition of safety oriented products (like the Reelights posted)

Ziemas, thanks for the comment; I agree there needs to be a lot more information about the tubes. I am in the process of completing a tutorial on how to patch a tube that will give light to my process on how these tubes are recycled and I will also add more general information.

The Chainglider is a featured product so I agree with you, more available information about it would be helpful, thank you
