Foo - I love my hex tool! <3

Of all my portable cycling-related tools, my multi hex-tool gets the most love. This thing is so useful that I don't leave home without it. Even when I'm not riding.

Here's what my hex tool and I did today:

1) Flipped my stem, tightening all headset / stem bolts
2) Raised my saddle a half centimeter
3) Helped a friend out whose saddle was coming loose from the seatpost

It's just like this, only a generic knock-off. I've had it for years and it has always been there for me. I love my hex tool!

In a sock, it makes a good defensive device too... just sayin'. :)

I have a Bondhus branded folding set that is an exact copy of the park tool one shown above (just with maroon handles, and of course different branding). Excellent tool, but I've abandoned it for just the few sizes of allen keys I need for my bike (it only needs two, three if I used the low-profile bottle cage bolts again).

I found sometimes an all-in one tool may be bigger than just the tools needed. Those three allen keys, a leatherman PSTII (smaller than a screwdriver AND pliers put together), and two tire levers is more tool kit than many will ever need on the road.

The only thing wrong with the Park Tools hex tools is that they don't have the ball ends.

Ball-ends are great till you nearly strip out a somewhat shallow bolt head with them like I did earlier this evening. My set, even the non-ball end have somewhat rounded edges to them and the tight fit I was working with stripped out enough of the bolt head that I had to go digging for my old set in my toolbox to prevent more drastic measures being taken to remove my BRAND NEW Kool-Stop brake pad. :mad: My own fault really, should have stopped when the resistance to installing the pad was higher than it should have been. Was trying to get these installed on some Campy S.Record calipers which they weren't designed for. My tektro holders work fine, so guess I've got to find another pair of those and swap out pads with some Kool Stops.

Is called UltraEdit. Our shop uses it as our text/hex/XML/anything in code editor

Cool. I use that at work as well, but didn't realize it could do hex editing.
