Just got this email from MS150: Teams Teem with Excitement for You
If you're registered to ride, but you're not yet on a team, these teams seek registered riders: CC Riders, Continental Airlines, Memorial Hermann, Sun & Ski, St. David's and Tacodeli. For information, contact Aaron Jean at ajean@nmsslonestar.org or Mindy James at mjames@nmsslonestar.org.

Also, does anyone have a rear wheel they might want to sell? My super-awesome Bontrager Select rear rim is getting some stress fractures, emanating from the holes where the spoke nipples meet the rim.

The weather is looking pretty good for saturday. I hope it holds. Is the start time still 7:30?

yup, 7:30am.
Police station just east (inbound) of barker cypress on I-10. It's a police station/garage with volley ball and basketball courts... you shouldn't be able to miss it. It's before any of the car dealers.

I can give my cell number via PM if someone wants to call when they get there late (or really early). It's about a 15min ride from my place... so I won't be driving.

I can't wait.. this weather feels awesome.

Well, I went to work this morning feeling like crap and came home at 9:30 AM... I figured I should rest up and get marginally better so I can ride tomorrow... I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Nice ride today guys. I don't think I drank enough, however... so now I've got a pounding hangover-like headache.

After getting no sleep, then riding 55 miles, it didn't take long before I was asleep at home. I woke up at 6:30 PM. It was a great ride, my legs are sore, my head hurts from sleeping.

It was a great ride. I really enjoyed riding through some of my old riding areas in Bellarie and West U. I was feeling very sluggish early on but the farther we went the better I felt. I learned about the trail from Bear Creek to Barker Cypress and on. I think I will show that trail to my wife. I think she would really enjoy riding it. Thanks again. I am looking forward to the nexgt ride.

Nate. Don't think we forgot about your clipless fall near Rice U. We didn't! Too bad no one had a camera on this ride.

Damn cement truck was in my way...but the look on the lady's face when she saw me fall right in front of her path was great.

I had a blast... even though my legs COMPLETELY gave out at mile 50ish. I was pushing with all I had and couldn't even wheel suck you guys on Clay rd..... I was FIGHTING to hold it in the 15mph range.... just couldn't catch you guys till we got to Barker Cypress... I was feeling better at that point... which was good to stick with the pace on Barker Cypress.

I've never ridden that bike farther than 25 miles.... so breaking 60miles (since i rode to the meet spot) was nice. In the past if the ride was further than 25ish... I always rode my Bianchi... so the fixed gear was fun. I think for rides like that I need to gear up a little... 18-19mph is perfect on my fixed gear... 20 is just a little too fast think... but that's what we always end up at.

I really like that route... definatly want to do it again. Plenty of intervals and trackstanding practice (stop lights) :D . There were some bad sections of road... but honestly I felt it was a great route. There were some busy sections around 59, westpark, hempstead hwy, and barker COULD be busy... but as a whole... doesn't bother me at all.

Clayton called me to ride sunday morning.... feel bad about not calling him for saturday... I didn't think he was riding hard again yet for some reason. (surgery on both knees). He will get a call next time.

I need to bring my camera next time... I thought about it... then forgot.

Nate... maybe you should wait a little while before replacing the bent bars :D You know... till you stop falling.

I'm glad you guys liked the route, I was a little worried since we were pretty urban. If we do it again, maybe we can head further east into Down Town and ride more along the bayous and "old Houston" where there lighter traffic.

Sounds good to me... Maybe also go through the heights?

I used to know the downtown area pretty well, but that was more than fifteen years ago. It's changed quite a bit since then. I remember riding through Union Station before it became Minute Maid Park.

We can do part of the heights...and part of down town is under construction. I'll figure up a route.
