Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - 7.5 FX or The Specialized Crosstrail

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I wanted an all around just have fun bile and I narrowed my choices down to the Trek 7.5 FX and the Specialized Crosstrail Expert. Well, I liked them both but I went with the Crosstrail. I like the Disc brakes and the ride felt better. Any opinions on this choice?

Well, it's a bit late for opinions if you already got the bike, but either one is a good bike ;) If you are happy with your choice, that's all that matters anyhoo :D
I know it is a little late Tom but I had to look for a little validation of the choice and see the merits of it or lack thereof!:)

Well, consider it validated ;) You got a great ride, either way :D

I liked the 7.5FX Disc a little more than the Crosstrail, but the 7.5FX vs. the Crosstrail was about even for me. The Crosstrail is much more dirt oriented. Either way, you'd have done well for yourself.

I ride a Trek product but I think that generally speaking Specialized makes a better bike.
