I think I'll stop by to see what's up. Don't think I'll be able to stick around for long though.

big surprise you always break out like 15 minutes into anything ...well accept the sprints which you kicked ass in.

Well damn. Maybe I should stick around longer? Don't forget the time I rode down to Porter's with you all too. Other than that it's normally because I've just been hit by something and am suffering an injury. I remember one time I showed up freewheeling on Mean Green Freddy Thompson (the Raleigh Super Course Mark II conversion) because my back had been thrown skidding seated at full speed onto Richmond heading west on Central after some idiot ***** turned right in front of me. Then recently was after the head-on hit downtown which obliterated Mona (the Mark V).

My knee is still acting bum so I just try my hardest to take it easy on the bike. But tonight! You!

I think I'm going to try a trackstand to backflip to wheelie-backwards circle. Hell, I might spice it up and spit flames at competitors during the backwards circle.

Someone needs to set up an event at Indian School ditch. Have yet to ride it on my bike yet but it is fun as hell on a long board.

Here is a video I did NOT make if you don't know what Indian School ditch is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9TLEgMWooM

I think the Albuquerque 2004 video gives a better scope of the full length of the ditch. It's always surprising how much larger it is than I remember. I especially love if you ride up the last third of it just gets twice as steep. That part'll knock your socks off if you ride from downtown.

Nope. Got off work at seven, thought about going, then decided i was tired and didn't feel like socializing. So i went home, then rode around later that night only to realize i probably shouldn't have been, considering the number of drunks driving around.

Heard it was a good time though.

How cute. The caption for that photo should be something along the lines of "Yay! Me love riding bicycle!"

I dig the shot you have of the line of people riding out of Walmart though. Beyond that it just now occurred to me I was the only one wearing a helmet. Cookies and ice cream anyone?

just got this email, this is for tonight....:

Hello friends and Scavengers:
The time has come, the planning is done, its time to pick your team.
Here is what you need to do to prepare for the Halloween Bike Ride Scavenger Hunt:
1. Organize a team of four.
2. Make sure that your team’s bicycles are equipped with lights and bike safe costumes—there will be prizes for best team costume and best individual costume.
3. Show up at 320 Edith Blvd (basically the corner of Edith and Lead, it’s the haunted two-story brick Victorian) between 5:30pm and 6pm prepared to depart at sunset—6pm.
4. Try to make it to as many “stations” as your team can by 10p.
5. At 10p, if not before, your team heads to the final station where prizes will be awarded and libations had.

also there is the halloween group ride from triangle park which is fun usually.

Me loves it. I went across town earlier with just half-finger gloves. That and clipless. I couldn't feel a damn thing afterwards. Other appendages included. God forbid what would've happened without the chamois.

It's not the numbness that bothers me. It's the increased mucous production, definitely the mucous; it makes me feel like the Alien queen.

The only known solution? A balaclava. It's entirely more practical to carry a hankerchief, but yeah, a balaclava. Besides, I look like a freakin' ninja, minus any form of acute sensory awareness, knowledge of the martial arts, or shurikens.

On a bike, no less.

So, the above is a video I filmed on some Saturday morning back in the spring, on the east side, around the university and the paseos on my fixed. I must've been so ****in' bored the prior evening: between Friday night and Saturday morning, I threw together the final rig to mount the camera to my bars, filmed the ride, experimented with image stabilization and temporal smoothing, and time-matched the ride to the music in post.

An ethereal, lovable slop I forgot about until about a month or so ago, when I dug it up for another board.

I just watched your edit. It was a nice little watch. It appears, at points, that the compression may be off but it may also be due to your having sped up the footage or your camera. Regardless, a good watch. You should keep making them.

i'm still going to show up for this race even if its ****e out side .
if the road are wet and frozen I will call it and do it again soon, I don't want anyone getting hurt on ice.
if a bunch show up then its on i guess.
it goes from the 60 and sunny to 40s and snowing for 3 days only what are the chances......oh wait this is new mexico....all I can say is F##K!!!!!!!

Hey Dave. Where the hell have you been the past few weeks? We changed the rides to Tuesday at 4, but we've had a couple rad rides since. Two weeks ago a buddy of mine who'd moved to Boston to do courier work came back to town because he surfaced a nerve whilst being doored. We did a really fast 20 mile ride down from campus to Comanche, through the thick of traffic over to Rio Grande and back. It would have been right up your alley.

So the cold explains the mucous thing. I got to the top of Osuna and thought I was just crying in pain.

Pfeh. Don't let it fetter the race at all. If people are going to let a little moisture ruin things for them, then that just thins out the competition more.
