So I'm picking up a pair of new to me, used tubular wheels saturday mid-morning. If I glue tires on saturday afternoon, (obviously depends on what method I choose) how long to wait until I ride them? No racing on them sunday I'm guessing?

You could easily race them on Sunday, depending on gluing method. I would suggest against it though, especially if you have never raced on tubular cross tires. It takes some getting used to how they feel at low pressure. Also, you don't want to find out your glue job didn't hold during the race! If this is your first glue job on cross tubulars I would really advise against racing on them the next day. Gluing cross tires properly is much more important than road tires.

You would probably be fine by Sunday but It is best though for cross tires to put two coats on the base tape and rim and let dry over night then one coat each and mount when tacky (about 10 minutes) then pump up align and let dry for 24 hours. I like Mastik 1.
