Well, I knew it had to happen to me at sometime. I finally endowed.....OUCH!!!!!
I have ridden this trail hundreds of times and I still have no clue what the H-E_double hockey sticks happened! I was going down this pretty hairy hill ( big roots, rocks, loose dirt) and I must have been too confident or too far up and forward on the bike. Next thing I remember was the bike stopped and I didn't. I went right over the bars. I flew about ten feet down the hill and hit a tree. My head hit something first and then my side hit the tree. It knocked the wind out of me and I couldn't breath. I was in so much pain and I was about 1-2miles into the trail and had another 4 to go. I couldn't stand up strait, and it hurt me to hold my arms up. So, instead of walking my bike out, I decided to ride the rest of the way out. It felt better when I was leaning forward.
There were plenty of rough up and downhills and logs to tackle on my way out, but I just took my time.
Here is the verdict. I waited to go to the doctor thinking I was just bruised up pretty bad. Well, I have 2 broken ribs, sprained elbow, and some cuts on my leg and arm.
I have wiped out before, but nothing like this. I just hope I can ride again soon.
By the way, my Kona followed me down and she is just fine....I LOVE THAT BIKE!!!
Just thought that I would share this with u all...keep on riding!!
