Has anyone ridden or seen the Caballero SCANDIUM frame from Salsa? www.salsacycles.com

I'm considering building one up with the Rohloff Speedhub 14 speed internally-geared rear hub instead of "normal" shifters and derails.
www.rohloffusa.com

I'd also swap out the RockShoxSID rear shock in favor of the Cane Creek Cloud Nine rear shock.

....probably throw some brakes on too, like the Hayes HFX-MAG Plus with Magnesium lever bodies and Carbon-fiber lever blades.

But I'm really interested in thoughts on the Caballero frame or other full-suspension frames made out of Alum/Scandium alloy.

Never seen one "up close and personal", but I've seen many products from Salsa and they've all been top notch.

My personal opinion of the design is that it may cause some brake "jacking" due to the rear pivot being located on the seat stay vs the chain stay. Thus, it'll give you a ride similar to a Horst Link, but will not be fully active when braking.

Other than that, it looks pretty sweet. What's retail on the it?

Regarding the Rohloff, BuzzBomb has one on his bike, I'm sure he'll chime in.

Yeah, the Speedhub is sweet. If you use it on this bike, you'll need an adapter from Rohloff called a speedbone, it lets you mount the hub without a torque arm by attaching to the rear disc mount. You will definitely want the shifter box as well.
I love this hub, and won't have gears on another MTB if I can help it. It has been bombproof, totally reliable, and you just have to love that chainline!
