Well not really...at least on my part;):D Wife was in the nearby town today (20 miles away) asked if I needed anything from the LBS:rolleyes: yep need a 4 prong Suntour freewheel puller and a couple of 26x1.5 tubes...calls back and says "Hey they have this black and gold tandem for $300" We have been looking for something/anything to use for the local small town (20 miles the other way) Christmas Parade to advertise her Bridal Shop. Store advertising colors happen to be Black and Gold....good thing she drove the truck into town:p We now own a Black and Gold Raleigh Companion Tandem 2004? We will be riding it in the Christmas Parade in a wedding dress and tuxedo tails with top hat:D Then it will do some serious use on our Saturday afternoon rides around town. I am the cyclist in the family and she is an occasional rider, hopefully this will lead to some longer jaunts and a better quality tandem in the future. (Greenspeed trike:roflmao: or a nice Thorn)

I had wanted a Bakfiets but the CFO/CEO of the Bridal Shop wouldn't let me spend 2/3rds of the total advertising budget on one:( (durned beancounters) FWIW I have been on BF for a while I usually hang out in C&V, LCF, or UC...looks like I have to add another forum to the daily review.:) After I get done with the upgrades to fenders and skirt guards pictures will be posted.

Aaron:)

Skirtguards? Must be a Euro-thing!

Skirtguards? Must be a Euro-thing!

Absolutely! But necessary in this case:o Not much to them really, just cover up the wheel in the top part of the rear triangle to keep a dress or coat from getting caught in the spokes. The last pair I made for someone was made out of that corrugated plastic stuff they make signs out off, zip tied into place.

Looking forward to the tandem life:p
