Hi,

I had Trek 7700 for number of years and it got stollen. I am 6'3", so had 23.5" frame - the largest they were making at the time. I looked for another trek - in FX series, but they now make 7.7 FX only in large size (22.5), no XL (25"), which I hear they reserved for Europe...:(

I have looked at Specialized Sirrus - Comp or Pro, have tried it, and while better fit, still felt a bit small.

I am now starting to look at Cannodale Road Warrior 1 or 2 and also Giant TCR series. I used to do 30-50miles/week.

Any suggestions and experience with some of these bikes?

Thanks!
Nick

A replacement for the Trek FX woud be the Giant FCR series (http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-US/bikes/road/1244/29273/). It comes in an XL. check the geometry page to see if it'll fit.

Cannondale and Giant are good bikes.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. Indeed I am looking at Cannondale Road Warrior and Giant FCR series – more specifically RoadWarrior 1 or 2 and FCR Alliance or FCR 1

These FY08 bikes do not seem to be out so was not able to test ride them at local dealers yet. Looking at the geometry they are very similar, and specs are also very comparable.

I was able to test ride RoadWarrior 500 from last year – they sold out 800 and 1000 models, which are more what I am looking at. The fit was quite good, which is good to know. I might try to test ride Giant FCR for this year as well.

The prices are comparable, with Cannondale having slight advantage and looks are great for both bikes, but new RoadWarrior looks even better in the catalogue/internet and it is hand made in the US!

If there is anyone who test rode FY08 models or compared these in F07 please let me know.

Thanks!
