Hi everybody. I'm selling the Raleigh that's been collecting dust in my basement. It's a great bike and if it fit me, I would keep it. Anyway, I've never shipped a bike before, but I would be willing to take it to the LBS and have it properly packed and shipped and pass along the cost. Of course local pick up would work too...but anyway, here are the details:
Price $275.00 (not including the packing, shipping, and insurance costs - if you want it shipped).
1978 Raleigh Competition GS
Black
Stand over height 34"
Stem to Seat post length 21.5"
Seat tube 23.5" (center of crank to top of seat post.
Very original steel Raleigh with Campy GS/Weinmann drive train
Original Black paint with tan highlights on the lugs
Original Campy cranks, dérailleurs, chain, down tube shifters.
Original Weinmann lightweight brake hoods, brakes, and wheels.
Original Brooks seat (not broken in), stem, seat post, and even cloth bar tape.
Original Christophe pedals and leather toe straps.
The only thing not original to the bike are the tubes and tires.
I bought this bike from the original owner. He put about 500 miles on it when it was new (or so he said), but he was in the military and traveled a lot and it sat in his garage collecting dust. When I bought it I knew it was too big for me, but I couldn't pass up it's original condition. But it's been collecting dust at my house because it's just too big to ride. It's original, but not perfect - it has some chips and minor scratches on the paint. But there is no rust and it rides an shifts like butter. If it fit me there is no way I would be selling it. But it deserves a taller person who enjoys vintage road bikes.
Thanks! :)

Hi. I see 125 people have taken a look at the thread, but there are no takers. No questions. Nuthin. Did I way over price this bike? I thought it was reasonable, but let me know if I'm smokin crack here.... :)

IS that bike gone yet? Lokerola I think you are asking a very kind price for that bike in that condition. Are you the original owner?
