I will be travelling from High Point to Raleigh soon. I have a route from H.P to Chapel Hill that I have done before. Looking on a map, Hwy 54 goes from Chapel Hill straight to Raleigh. It has been several years since I've gone by car and just looking for some advice.

NC-54 is very busy between Chapel Hill and Raleigh. I normally ride south out of Chapel Hill, staying east of 15/501 and working southeast toward NC-751 to Olive Chapel. Apex-Olive Chapel Road leads into Apex and it is relatively easy to get from Apex to Cary to Raleigh most any time. The only time I brave NC-54 between Raleigh and Chapel Hill is early on Sunday mornings. Let me know if you want more specific route directions.
Thanks Lurch. I've got my delorme in hand, Crossing the lake at Farrington looks interesting. I will definitely go the apex -> cary -> raleigh route.
