I have a older set of mavic helium wheels that the bearing cap adjuster comes loose every ride,alowwing side play.Should i loctitite the cap?

Next to the bearing cone, there should be a locking nut which should, once the cone is correctly adjusted, be tightened against it to prevent what you are seeing. It could be dangerous to keep riding with loose cones.

Try Linseed oil, or go with a light strength threadlock(purple)
