Training & Nutrition - Another trainer question

My wife has agreed to buy me a trainer for my birthday but on one condition, it has to fit her bike too! So now my question is, are trainers adjustable to fit a normal road bike (700cc wheels) and this kind of bike?

I think most trainers(maybe even all) will accommodate a wide enough range of wheel sizes to work with the sizes you're talking about.

A trainer will work on both.

Trainers like smooth tires (i.e..., high pressure 120psi, 28c or thinner), preferably not too wide and cushy Your wife's bike has "comfort" tires which may create an unpleasant uncomfortable bumpy ride. Putting the bike on the trainer will not be a problem.

The wheels should fit the trainer, but it might not be a fun trainer ride for her. See post above.

I actually got her the skinny Kenda tires to replace the regular tires on it. Not too many ridges but not as smooth as road tires. It might just work.

Anybody have a suggestion on what brand to get? I have been told fluid trainers are the best. Is there a good one below $150?

Does anyone every check their local craigslist for used ones? When I posted looking I had replies in minutes and then even weeks later. But, I was looking for rollers and not a trainer.

Ok but that does not exactly answer the question. The question wasn't whether I can find one on CL (used or otherwise) but what a good brand of trainer is.

BTW, I got my first road bike on CL and have sold it there as well plus buying and selling numerous of other knick-knacks.

I guess my reply was to the cost of a new trainer under $150.00. Yes, you can find one for less than $150.00 on craigslist or other local internet forums. Look at the brands and models new and then compare those to what you can find when posting an ad for a used trainer. I wasn't trying to be negative, I was trying to help you get a good trainer at a good price.
