Hello, I made up a bunch of "one less car" stickers and have about 50 left over. I would like people to make use of them, so I will mail them out in packs of 5. They are small, but just right to stick on a frame. Just PM me with your name and address.

Link to a picture of them: http://twowheeled.blogspot.com/2007/08/stickers.html

I work at a copy shop, we deal with several vendors who do different type of stickers. If you are ok with it I would like to check prices to have some printed I can probably get them at cost or close to. If it's not too much I could probably cover the cost of printing. My bikes would proudly wear that sticker. If so let me know what size and color (maybe green?).

Not to promote them but I think the original idea behind one less car is the people who have the site www.1lesscar.com . I have seen them advertise on Craigslist. They have stickers as well as shirts etc....

Copyright infringement, can't believe that slipped my mind especially since I work at a copy shop. I have since decided that I would rather do an original design instead. One of my fellow carfree coworkers and I decided to design something to give away to other fellow carfree or carlite enthusiast.

ORIGINAL idea? I don't think so. "One less car" stickers have been around for a long time. I got a bunch of them through my Carbuster Magazine subscription a couple of years ago.

lets come up with an idea, ^^ you print it at cost, we'll send a few dollar bills in the mail with a SASE to cover the cost.

Sure, I did some initial investigating yesterday and inquired about bumper stickers with our offset girl. They were a little more expensive than what I would have guessed, but I figure that we could set them up 2 up giving us twice as many for the same price. I thought the silver foil with green ink was nice and was at no extra charge, but I can get back with more specifics. This process we send out to a vendor to have done and we get better prices than a normal person ordering. I would rather do them in house if possible knowing that my store won't be trying to turning a profit on me like an outside vendor, we don't have an offset printer but we have high end xerox equipment. I would like to see if I can obtain some stock that is durable enough for outside conditions will have to check with our suppliers. I can get some answers early next week. Just taking a quick glance yesterday the first option 250 bumper stickers for around $170 and 500 for around $220 (keep in mind this is a bumper sticker size and I think a 2 up would actually get twice as many) this is our full retail price as an employee I do get a discount just not sure how much with offset. Option 2 (in house) if there is a good enough stock, would be great because it would be letter size and could be setup 2 up, 3 up or 4 up, color or b&w(which is dirt cheap). This way also lets me use as many different types of artwork no plates involved. I can get some answers early next week.
The artwork idea my coworker and I came up with was a infinity logo used as the bicycle wheels and MPG ran vertically beside it but none of this is set in stone.

Edit: I am really trying to find the best price I would rather not handle anyones cash and make this a gift and only asking for a sase.

I would be interested in this if it happens. I would pay for 10 or so and be happy to chip in a few bucks for your time.

Standard bumper sticker size sounds a little large for a bicycle frame, or am I missing something?

MyBikeGotStolen

Sounds to me that he wants to print 3 or 4 bike stickers on each bumper sticker sized paper, so its actually like 1/4 the size of a bumpersticker.

I think you might be able to do two rows of 3 to get the size right on bumper sticker size stock.

the smaller 1x4 top tube size stickers would fit way better in envelopes than a bumper size....

Ok, here it was I found out. There is a sticker stock that we can run on our machines that is supposed to be quite weather resistant and waterproof from what our paper supplier told me (this is option 2 I explained earlier). The size stock is LTR (8.5in x 11in) but the sheet contains 2 - 5.5in x 8.5in stickers. I went ahead and put an order in for a box of 50. I really think we can break this up into 4 on a page meaning each sticker will be a 4.25in x 5.5in which would give a total of 200 stickers and the price is significantly cheaper but the only trade off is b&w only. I can put as many different types of art work on this stuff (no plates). I still haven't got my artwork together yet, but if you want to submit something pm and I will send you my email address I can pretty much take any type of file. I won't be charging for these since I need stickers for my bike, I will pick up a book of stamps send for free until stamps run out after that I might need a sase. I will try to get my artwork ready this weekend. I promise to respect anyone’s creations and not sell anyone’s designs, trust me that can get me in a world of trouble in my line of work, all that I ask is that I may stick one of your stickers on my bike.

I enjoy One Less Car stuff. Even own some of it. But it has me thinking, isn't One More Bike a more positive way to look at it? A better way to focus on what is really important to us? Just my .02

Hey, thanks for going threw all this to do the stickers!! I jus had a question. Wouldnt 4.25 x 5.5 be pretty big for a bike sticker? I havent ever bought a bike sticker so I dont really know what size would be "normal" size for a bike sticker. 4.25 x 5.5 would be perfect size to stick to the front of my school folders though :D

I think your right 2.125 x 5.5 would probably work much better and also give 8 to a page or 4 per sticker. FYI I will not be able to cut these to size heavy duty cutter depending on how busy we are I will try to cut them with a roto trim. Our supplier was telling me about these great vinyl sticker sheets that they have though we can't run them through the machines we have, but would love to find a cheap way to print on them myself. Couple of my coworkers do home silk screening on shirts I might have to look into this though I think it's a rather slow process. One of our good customers is with the printing history museum I just might have to make a trip there, could be a fun project. No problem about the stickers I have gotten plenty of great advice and a place to vent, when needed.

Stickers came in and I am surprised this is an avery "weather proof" labels which means it is probably available to everyone. I haven't tried running it through the machine yet will try tonight. This what I got so far.

Well I hate to say this but the this sock will not run through any of our equipment, so it's no go for now at least. I will try calling the supplier if they have any suggestions or a refund.

Cole,

I hope you don't mind but I did a quick Colorize on your stickers to make them a little more versatile for those of us fashion freaks. :) I own much of your stuff. :)

Couldn't get some of the pixels out with a lot more work but i thought these looked good enough.

The posted version is too small to print well, get the better set here: You can download them here in PDF form: http://sittingjohn.com/oneless.pdf
