Right now the only stunt I have is a lame platform that I ride off. I've been thinking of building a new one when my bike is fixed an all. Do any of you guys have a cool design or idea?

Make some log bridges and teeter totters in your back yard. You can also make some drops and stuff....its fun. I wish my dad would let me build something in my backyard.

We started with a small log and put together some 2x4 we had lying around. It started out 2foot wide 4 ft long.then we just centered it over the log and that was it. You can progress to taller logs and then narrower teeter-totter.We're still progressing as we get our nerve up.But it's a blast.

Hey Mathew, why don'tcha get into some trials riding?,set your seat post way down, and use your imagination as to what you can and cannot ride, urban assault !,this will teach you balance, brake control, + "feeling " the bike, if you find yourself liking this style of riding, build yourself a purpose made "trials" bike .......

What is Urban Assault/Trials riding? I have a general idea what it is.

We set up on a log that had fallen and was about 2 1/2 ft tall and the seesaw was about 5 ft long. This may not seem much but it was for us,pretty steep up and a quick down . Also we've set up some section of trees that are cut up and stack them different ways or place them in line kind of getting used to a narrow log bridge. I want to get used to it this way before crossing anything with one.

Trials riding is negotiating a set course of "impossable to ride" obsticles without puting your feet down (dab). Fewest dabs wins. Trials bikes generaly have smaller frames, tighter geometry, and super-beefy 24 or 26 inch rims and hydro brakes. The saddle is a tiny afterthought (your never sitting). This http://pe.biketrials.com/Brisab26/brisab26.html is a trials bike.

Trials is probably one of the most amazing things I've seen done on a bike. GT's Hans Rey is the undisputed God of trials. Theres a collection of photos, mpegs, etc on his site www.hansrey.com

Check out http://www.natrials.com/2001/24snowshoe.html for some great observed trials pics.

Urban assult is you an unoffical trials ride at your local parking complex/loading dock/university commons area. Put some fatter tires on your mtb, drop your seatpost all the way, and go have some fun. Just be sure to have "911" on speed dial on the cell-phone.
This: http://roger.ecn.purdue.edu/~aeromike/trialspics/Purdue/purdueride.html Is a serious session!

Trials rocks. I just wish I had that kind of balance.
