I'm relatively new to triathalons, and I enjoy racing, but my 25+ year old bike, that is held together with bubblegum and scotch tape has been breaking down a lot lately. I would like to get a new triathalon bike, but the prices are so expensive...

So, I decided to try and win a new bike.

I found a contest put on by the bicycle component company Campagnolo. The contest involved designing graphics for the wheel of a bicycle. Much to my surprise, my design was selected as one of the ten best designs from hundereds that were submitted worldwide. The final winner of the contest will be selected by an online voting process. Thats where I need your help. Please go to the company website at:

www.campagnolo.com

Follow the links to the BORA art contest. Please locate and vote for my design which is called BORA Sharon, by Sharon Temleman.

I'll be the first to say that many of the other designs are very nice. But I would like to ask that you vote for mine because you would be giving a helping hand up to one of your fellow triathaletes!:D

Thank you, I very much appreciate your support!

Sharon

Some very cool designs! I heeded your plea, however, and stuck with a fellow Canuck triathlete. :)
Good luck and let us know how you do.

You got my vote. There were some nice designs there, but your design was one of the only ones that I would actually put on my bike. Good Luck and you're still in second place as of this time.

That's so cool.

Voted :)

I voted for you as well.

You are currently in 2nd place.

You might try a similar request post over in Road Cycling.

There is more traffic there.

Just voted for you, good luck!

Hmmmm...You have one post on Bikeforums. I would guess that once the contest is over we will never see you here again......

You mean kind of like the 11 out of 12 posts on Slowtwitch asking the same thing?

Thank you very much to all who supported me by voting in the contest.

Campagnolo confirmed today that I finished in second place. There is a prize for finishing second in the contest, a new bike.

A couple of people were a bit skeptical - which I can completely understand. Everyday we are innudated by people asking us for something.

Just to let you know, this contest has inspired me to train harder, and try out more races. I may never be as fast as many of you, but I'll be out there trying my best. The skeptics might also be interested to learn that I've been volunteering at triathalon and other sporting events for years. I sign people up for races, help with marshalling or paddle my kayak around to help swimmers.

Over the years I have enjoyed helping some of you enjoy your races. Those who have voted have now done a great deal to help me enjoy races in the future. Thanks again.

Sharon

Gary: I read this forum frequently, and learn a great deal from the other folks on the site.

I guess as a newbie, I figure I don't have a whole lot to offer others, but maybe you have a point, maybe I could help another newbie or something.

Heck, I'm not a newbie on BF but I'm a triathlon virgin. I also did what I could to help you up in the Road cycling section. If we had a few more days notice, I'm convinced you would have won.

What bike did you win by the way?

How do you deal with folks suddenly petrified of doing an open water swim?

Thanks for your help Brian.

Campy hasn't given me details yet on the prize. ANYTHING will be better than my current ride!!!

Sharon,

Well, keep us informed. I for one am very curious as to what they give.

Good luck training and racing on your new bike!
