I have a Trek Y-11 carbon frame and am replacing the front fork. (Judy Dart2). I have a new Cane S-3 headset with sealed bearings that I would like to use since I'm replacing the fork. The old headset has a really old ball bearing design. The existing headset has top and bottom seats that are stuck pretty tight. I can't budge them and am concerned I might cause some damage to the frame by trying to tap them out. Maybe they're fixed in there somehow. Is this something that just needs a little solvent to break loose or is it something better left to a bike shop? Any idea of what this might cost me?
