Who here is a messenger in the New York City area and i just wanted to know how much some of your companies pay. I know a lot of them pay peanut commission but my company is a little different. It's 9.75 for a delivery at least and there are many bonuses included. So I just want to know where are the bike messengers at?
It's 9.75 for a delivery at least and there are many bonuses included. 9.75 per delivery? So, um, you make 40+ bucks an hour and enjoy "many bonuses" as well? Suddenly "bicycle messenger" sounds like a lucrative career... I'm moving to New York asap and signing up with your company.

You get bonuses like 7 dollars extra a rush, or if you're traveling from uptown to downtown for a delivery and that kind of thing...you dont get "benefits" but it is the best paying messenger service from what i have heard. A lot of the other companies pay on commission which means real ****ty pay

They're all over in the fixed/ss forum. Messenger seems to be a very high-status occupation over there, sort of like doctor or lawyer or college professor in the real world. So there are lots of people over there who at least claim to be messengers. Some of them might be telling the truth.
