Anybody else ride in the "10 The Event" Metric Century in Columbia? I actually rode in it with the HoCo Cyclists. What a a great group! Despite the downpours for the first 90 minutes, the rest of the ride was really nice. We heard the sponsors canceled the 20mi and metrics shortly after our group left. What a shame, but I do understand. Weather would best be described as biblical for those first 90 minutes. We had to take it easy. The latter half of the ride was perfect. Thanks to Mt. Airy bikes for rolling the hospitality when we arrived despite the cancellation. They were a great shop to visit. I'll be back to see them.
All in all, I saw probably 20 brave cyclists that made the ride. Many more seemed to be waiting when I arrive around 7:30 AM. If another metric is held out of Columbia, I'd love to ride it.
