I was able to get in my October century today. I left Pasadena at 5:00AM this morning. I rode to the San Gabriel River Trail to Long Beach. First the trail is closed at Carson. Not sure where the construction ends as I rode Studebacker to 2nd St. Second I saw a coyote with a vulture in it's mouth down by the river just after sun rise. Pretty cool. I ended up riding around PV via Western to PV South and up to LAX and back to my mother-in-laws in Torrance near South High.
Almost exactly 100 miles, just a hair over. I finally turned on my auto start feature on the Garmin. My total ride time was 5 hours and 45 minutes. Considering I used the auto start that is a pretty sad time. My previous bet time was 5 hours and 59 minutes but I didn't use auto start. Either way I felt pretty good to get out. Nice way to end the weekend.
Word of advice for those doing the CMA, try to get your ride done early in the month. That way if things don't go according to plan you have options and don't back yourself in a corner like I did this month.
