I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this GPS. I like the fact that it's fairly inexpensive and the 3D view is truly interesting. I wish there was a way MY routes could be saved and uploaded but this is not an option. It does have a way to save 500 way points so this could be a way to custom design a route.

I'm kind of leary about buying this since it is designed for motorcars which means it autoroutes and puts you on highways. I do like the fact it comes with a mount for bicycles so does this mean it has a feature for us?

Anyone use this GPS or something like it? Does anyone use a GPS designed for cars?

With my limited time with the Garmin 200 in a car, I'd say it's doable. The unit is extremely accurate even at slow speeds (<25 mph) in a car. You can zoom in and out of the map plus also has turn-by-turn, complete with disembodied voice telling of the approaching turn. I can't speak for the run time, but I believe it's 3-4 hours.

I like it mostly because it's so easy to use. Without instructions, I was able to figure out the interface very quickly.

Great.... How long does it take to recharge the battery? It says there are 500 way points, have you used this feature?

I agree with what flipped4bikes said. It's totally doable. I got it on at a deal price of $220

It worked fine on car power and the battery would go for a long time.

IIRC the charge time was less than 2 hours. I did not try the waypoint feature, sorry.

Most Garmin units have an "avoid highways" option in their tools menu. You tap the check-box, and the routing function puts you on back roads unless a highway is unavoidable.
