I'm swapping the Hollowtech BB from old to new bike.

The components are now off but are slighty gritty. Should I

Wipe them clean with a paper towel or cloth being carefull not to wipe anything into threads or bearings
Submerge them in degreaser or white spirit and give them a damm good scrubb.

If the latter what to do about regreasing sealed bearings.

You generally cannot grease sealed bearings. I would not soak the bearing assembly because you could wash out the lubricant.

Use a solvent, like white spirit or paraffin (thats kerosene in UK English, right?), and wipe off any grit, then scrub all the threads on the bearing assembly and BB until they are perfectly clean. Liberally grease on re-assembly.

Thanks for the info, will wipe and clean liberally without dunking everything. Paraffin - yes
