Has anyone experimented with double hinging a downtube 20" frame by adding another fold so frame cold fold small like a brompton and then travel by air without major disassembly?

Why don't you try this and tell us how it works out?

I would pay more than I pay on a Brompton to see a 20" wheeled bike as good as a Downtube that can travel by ir without major disassembly.

Looking forward to the first prototype,

Wish I could do it, but I have no metalworking skills whatsoever. I do think that it couldn't be that difficult if you had the tools to properly cut and weld a hinge in.

ir? Oh, right, infrared-- like on my old palm pilot. Now that would be so cool, if I could just 'beam' my bike across the room. Way to think outside the box, Raphael!;)

I was actually thinking about something like the GoBike, but that works. ]:)

I would pay a lot too. Wishdowntube would design one that has 20" wheels and packs easily into an airline sized suitcase. Or less and wide gearing range.
