Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hey, if you haven't heard of a ski bike before its basically a normal bike with a ski attached to the front and back fork. I am not interested in making a ski bike, however I am trying to borrow their idea where a flat surface is attached to the front fork (like this http://slopecycle.com/images/P/XR1%20RedSilver%20Fork_detail.jpg ) . however, this costs $150 and I am looking for something a little less expensive. any advice on how i can do this that does not involve welding would be appreciated. thanks a lot for your help, i really need it

I can envision a ski with a built-in quick release and some struts held against the back of the fork. This wouldn't be a huge deal if you can machine parts or know your way around composite fabrication. It sounds like a bit of a big project to get it to work, but a non-impossible one.
