the Fuji Finest AL is an entry level bike with Sora stuff... i'm thinking of upgrading the components and wheels... as most people here seems to agree, it's not worth "hanging expensive stuff on a cheap frame..." and i do agree, but when i checked Fuji's 2004 website, they have Ultegra's and 105's on the same frame as the Finest (Altair 2 aluminum)... of course these bikes have a carbon fork and seat post... so i'm thinking if it's still worth it to upgrade the Finest... i would have spend more upgrading rather than buying all initially, but i already have the bike... the steel fork of the Finest seems comfortable to me, but i'm thinking of changing the wheels/tires, and maybe to a 105... what you all think...?

By the time you spend the money for a complete 105 drive train, and a set of wheels, you could have simply sold your Fuji, and bought another bike. I was just in the same scenario with a Trek 1000. I wound up selling it for $450, and buying a Bianchi with full Ultegra and Mavic Cosmos wheels for $925 plus shipping. I would have easily spent a couple hundred for 105, and another couple hundred for decent wheels. For the same amount of money, I got a steel frame and full Ultegra, (including the brakes). I got better bars, post, and stem too. You should throw your Fuji on Ebay with a high reserve price, and see just how much you can get for it. If it sells high, then go for a new bike. If it isnt going to bring enough money, then upgrade it. The problem with Sora, is you are going to have to replace everything.
