How difficult would it be to add a rear dérailleur and cassette to my single spped folder? I already have the parts from a disassembled mountain bike. My folder has a rear band brake which may make it more difficult (impossible?)

You would have to rebuild the rear wheel for a different hub. You will probably have to spread the dropouts to fit a wider hub which might be impossible according to the frame material. You would have to find a way to put a derailer hanger on right dropout as well. You might have issues with the chainline as well.
I'm guessing "more trouble than it's worth." ;)
What kind of folding bike is it, exactly?
A Pyrotech basically no name cost $100. But rides nice until you get to a hill, looks nice, and fits in my suitcase. 35 lbs.
