Well, friend of mine gave me some clipless pedals that he does'nt use anymore and I never put them in because I had no shoes... Well I bought shoes, and my dad put the pedals on while I put the cleats on the shoes. I'm not sure if he crossthreaded them putting them in or if for some reason it did that while I was riding. Two questions..

How much is a new crank? I'm not really looking for anything fancy, just somthing reasonable that can replace it.

Can I hely-coil (spelled that wrong) it? Or is that not strong enough.

You might be able to heli-coil the damage, but the material may not be strong enough to hold. It's worth a try anyway. If you check out Performance Bike's website, Price Point, Nashbar, or Jenson USA website you can find the crank replacements. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Hey thanks for the reply. I think I'm just going to buy a new crank.. But I've been looking and all I can find are complete cranksets, not just the arm.

well see how much helicoiling it costs, im almost positive itll work fine, [most dhillers and freeeriders who ive seen discuss cross threaded pedals even suggest helicoiling it]

If you mess up the drive side, you may as well get a new set for the difference in cost.
It can be helicoiled.
The cranks should be marked so you can tell which is left or right threaded. Left hand thread goes on the left side.

Well I'm sure I put the L one on the left side and vice-versa. I think im going to buy a new crank.... Now if only I did'nt spend all my money on shoes..

I don't have a problem with people getting a good deal online. My problem is when you play twenty questions with me and then use that information to buy it online. I also have a problem with bikeshop idiots that EP stuff and then sell it through Ebay for a VERY low margin, undervaluing the item.
