I was wondering if anyone can offer any suggestions for good road cycling/training routes in Santa Barbara California.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Try this link:

http://www.slobc.org/LocalRides.html

It's a SLO club link list that opens to a bunch of rides. Most are in SLO area or up Cambria and north but there are some with rides in Santa Ynez area (Foxen Cyn, etc.). I think the best riding is in SY, not in SB city. Better SB city rides are up State St. to San Roque into hills. Also, Cabrillo along beach is nice--runs from Montecito up into homes/hills above Ledbetter. My riding in SB is limited but these are areas we enjoy.

I did a bike tour from Monterey south to LA two years ago. Connected from Santa Maria to Solvang on Foxen Canyon. You can ride for the most part on US 101 north towars Buelton.
The climb north of Gaviota St. Beach Park was pretty impressive. Also some pretty awesome climbs south of Foxen Canyon Road, when you branch off towards Solvang. That last climb was a wang dang doozie! Thought it impossible for awhile.

We have a free map for Santa Barbara County. Has been very helpful.
We got it at a bike shop in Carpinteria, Rincon Cycles. They are free maps and are probably available at a lot of places in Santa Barbara. Here's the organization who put it out: Traffic Solutions phone 805-963-7283 website:
