Today was one the last NORMAL rides I'm going to get for a while. Here in Missouri, the fall weather and time change combine to make riding in November into something challenging, at least to my work schedule.
But, since we've got 'til Saturday (I think???), I'm taking every opportunity. Took a little early departure time from work (hey, I worked late last night!) hit the Katy Trail starting in Jefferson City, a little 10 mile or so jaunt to Hartsburg in what I believe to be record time (except for the fact that my )(@#*$ computer died on me halfway there:mad: And of course, with it being Autumn and everything, I thought it appropriate to have a nice Leinenkugel's draft beer at my favorite Hartsburg watering hole (hey, you've got to replace the electrolytes, ya know!).
Another fast 10 miles or so and I was back at the start point, shaken but not stirred, no competition from cars, the most dangerous thing I experienced was a darned squirrel playing chicken with me (every notice that it's the RED squirrels doing this?).
I know, not a really informative thread, but it felt darned good, perfect weather and :( said to say, one of the last weeknight rides I'm going to get sans lighting. Anyone have any bright ideas about changing schedules, etc. to allow for riding with the sudden lack of daylight?
