howdy-

i just received a set of insideride rollers. tonight i did my first ride on them for 1 hour and my family was not thrilled about the high pitch sound they generated. they are not too bad until i exceed 16 mph then they start with a loud high pitch.

Am i doing something wrong? I just set the front hub a little behind the the center of the front roller and jumped on and started to pedal. I have read several reviews where users said these where not loud rollers. Could it be because my tires are needing to be replaced?

any comments would be appreciated.

I find mine are quieter with smoother tires--as smooth as you can get em.

Use slicks; even the slightest tread pattern will make the rollers sound loud. Make sure that the tyres are seated properly to that there's no unevenness (check the register line on the tyre against the rim); the slightest wobble or unevenness in the way the tyre is mounted will be magnified and will not only be noisy but will also make the ride uncomfortable. Slicks pumped up as hard as possible is the way to go for quiet riding on rollers.
