35 when I left the house. Took me a few miles to warm up. The shower at this end really felt good.

Foggy too. Riding through the ice crystals in the air was pretty cool.

I look forward to the day I have the option of a shower on this end...

Yeah I like the way the ice crystal reflect in my lights. Takes me back to my mind altering drug days :D

Yep....having just moved here from FL, it's probably the coldest I've been on a bike yet.

I left at 8:30 this morning and it was about 39f. Craft l/s base layer, midweight l/s jersey, GORE WINDSTOPPER vest. Specialized full fingered gloves, CRAFT Pro Race beanie, summer socks under my wool socks.

Verdict...my feet were cold and I probably would have been better off with glove liners. A few degrees colder and it's balaclava time.

Umm, there was one spot where the fog was layered, just like California tule fog. That was actually unpleasantly mind altering :( . I'm glad I didn't run into anything.

I'll tell you there is nothing like a brisk ride to wake you up in the morning.

Pretty nice at 45 (7am) in Lakewood this morning when I left, the only problem was I was in my truck.

Did you get out on a bike later? I was sure it was going to rain in the morning, but never did. Turned pretty nice out later in the afternoon.

Nope, the wife worked in Seattle and the mini me has a cold. So in case the preschool called for me to come pick him up, I took the truck to work. Thats ok, I have put more miles on my bicycle than on both my truck and motorcycle combined this year.

Ok, the rug rat was sounding much better this morning so I felt more comfortable to ride. It was . . . . . .
30 freakin' degrees! :D So much for the banana belt of the sound

It was 34 when I came in this morning.

The reason we're so cold is the lack of clouds. The clouds actually act as a reflector for the heat from the ground, making the entire area warmer. Sure, with the clouds often comes the rain, but that's the trade off. You can either have clouds, relative warmth, and rain, or clear skies with cold. Personally, I'll take the rain.

Please. I've been around long enough to be Harry Wappler, at least!

Yeah, but I like Steve Pool's sense of humour better :) .

Back on topic, there were large piles of frost on my deck this morning...and I would rather have rain too.

I remember Harry Wappler. His son is just as goofy as his old man was.

The worst is MJ McDermott on Q13.

I usually figure Jeff Renner is the one to listen to but after that little rain episode yesterday morning I'm not so sure.:)t was cold at 4:15 when I left the house but I was dressed for it but even though I had on the wool glove liners and the regular full finger bike gloves my hands got cold. I'll know the next time to wear the heavier fleece under the gloves or I'll wear my ski gloves :)

Here's my "weatherman":

Being from New England, mid-30's isn't too bad. Once I get going, all that's chilly are my toes and my face.

Beautiful day for a ride. Cloudy and gloomy, but dry nonetheless.
