That crap sprays everywhere, and I got alot of it spilled on my chainstay decals while lubing my chain...do I need to worry about how they'll react? I tried to clean it up the best I could but not sure how much came off.

That crap? Use the bottle not the spray can and spray the bottom chain path not the top chain path and if you overspray it will fall on the ground not the chain stay.

No I don't think it will hurt decals. Sun-tan lotion will though :(

If the decals are -on top- of the clear coat or otherwise not protected by a finish, I suspect anything oil based could cause them to loosen.

I get oil on the decals of my litespeed and they survive. Suntan-lotion melts them into a gooey mess

I'm sure any minerial based solvent would also destroy them. But petrolium based stuff seems to be OK.

No, it will not do any harm to any part of your bike. I had this "crap" everywhere on my bike, including tires (once dried on the rubber it turns white in color). Just wipe it off with a dry cloth or you can wash it off if you want.
