Bicycle Mechanics - Rattling head badge on Lemond

Hello all,
I have an '06 Lemond Victoire and when riding over rough asphalt, the head badge rattles against the head tube. The badge is relatively thin aluminum connected to the head tube with 2 small rivets which don't hold it tight. I was considering tapping on the rivets with a small rubber mallet, but thought I would ask here first for any other ideas.

Packing tape.

drill the rivets out, take off the head badge, find screws to reattach headbade. smear some adhesive on the back before you screw it back on.

If you want to be precise about it, tap the holes for a thread size of your choosing and THEN put in some screws. For a nice frame like that I wouldn't just necessarily drive in self tapping screws. Maybe I'm just anal

Interesting. My LeMond's head badge was only affixed to the head by double sided tape. Made it easy to remove. I have never put it back on. But then I took off all of the LeMond peculiar stuff.

A bit of clear silicone worked between the frame and the emblem will take care of your rattle and maintain the OEM integrity of you bike. Spkt

My Merlin Extralight headbadge plain old fell off the bike. Never have put it back on.

Put a drop of hot glue between the tube and the badge. It will absorb the shock as well as insulate the pieces from rattling.

I'd use a tiny drop of 5 minute epoxy, placed behind the badge with a toothpick. The smallest amount that will flow into the gap will do the job of stopping a rattle.

Drill out the excess, of course!

Squirt a couple of drops of superglue behind the badge. It's clear, water thin and will hold on like grim death.

+1 on the clear silicone. Least obnoxious and most removable.

Tapping on the rivets from the outside probably won't do any good by itself. You need to support the back side of the rivets from the inside of the head tube and then tap the rivets from the front, preferably using a punch with a concave face. This squeezes the rivet longitudinally and expands it laterally and thus tightens it. The glue fixes suggested by others are much less work!
