Assuming you want/need this much light and have the budget to make the purchase all at once, can anyone think of a combination they have seen in the last year including all special offers, that rivals the everyday price of the Dinotte Li-Ion Edurance Series Dual 200L with taillight at $429 and $434 depending on the lense combination that you want? I can't.
For that matter that matter the 600L and 200L and taillight at $599 is a pretty good deal, too.
If I could apply the night riding knowledge I have learned the last year and be considering solo riding instead of only group riding and could talk myself into this budget, these are the only two options that I would consider in today's market. And it looks like you might be able to upgrade cost effectively like the first to second generation Li-Ion upgrade package.
Opinions?

That package is actually only $479, and is a Killer Combo!
$519 with 2x4 cell +Mini 2cell pack to power the 140l for 4 hours.

Sorry, I thought you were refering to the 140L+600L combo.
$563 for the 200L+600L, still a killer price and package!
$599 for the 200L+600L and 140L is stellar... Where do you see that package? Or are you refering to the built in tail light of the 200L?

The one you are referring to is the 6th option down and the one that I am referring to is right below, the 7th option down on the online store endurance series page.
Right, so it is only 2 lights.
Is the Canuck Buck doing that well? :D
It would be hard to beat that, but I dunno if the Dinotte is great when the weather goes bad...from what I have in my hands, there are some bare batteries in a lil bag.
What more do you mean btw?
Is it light per $$...light per gram...lum vs runtime...

The Li-Ion battery packs are like sealed cases

My fault. It is just the bar and helmet light and the taillight reference is to the small blue light on back of the helmet light. I was just looking at the top description.
That is not an accurate description but the picture and package contents do correctly show the two lights. I should have looked closer. It is not as good a deal as I thought.

Why is it not as a good deal?
I think it's still a good deal for the versatility and the amount of light it provides.

All the benefits: total light output front and back, helmet & bar light combo advantage, runtime, smart charger, small size and light weight, etc. If I did the math correctly adding the prices of the individual items and subtracting out the accessory prices for the extra items in the individual packages, you save $58 with the package. $249+249+229-100-90-50=$487-429=$58.

I was looking at it solely from the package price savings over the individual items prices. Doing the math I was wrong. Unless I made a mistake the package savings is about the same as the 2x200L+taillight package savings. I guess they are pretty sharp after all.

Even the AA model is fine in the rain. The 4 AA's are sealed, and if the holder gets wet it is still fine. I have had mine soaked with no ill effect.

I commute 17 miles each way through mixed hwy, sidestreet, well lit, no lights, no traffic and high traffic roads. I have two 200 front Dinottes and 2 rear Taillights. A great combination. I have the fronts seperated on one of those "T" add-on stalks. I can do 2 flashers with street lighting or daylight, one Flashing one solid on partially lit streets or both on dark streets. All on or off in seconds. I have extension cords to the front light and a split to the rear with the batteries in my trunk bag. I tried a third light on my helmet, but that was really unnecessary on the street. The two rear light are outstanding. I've been told I look like a UFO!
