Please move it to Southern California or something like that.

Do you like the toupe seat? I've heard people getting their shorts caught in the plastic tips

Cons, no problem at all, my third toupe and never a problem.

I'm pretty ignorant on this geometry stuff, but I notice that there is not much drop from seat to bars. Is this your actual setup? I'm an old guy with his bars about level with his seat, but I thought that racier bikes usually had much more drop.

We should have the Great Lakes jerseys redesigned to match this bike.

Thanks guys, got about 20 miles yesterday and still fitting it. My usual 50 mile club ride Saturday morning should be a good shakedown.

At least they don't go too nuts with putting their name on the bike. I was just in a shop yesterday and they had a cool-looking Cannondale, but with the Cannondale name written huge on the top tube, down tube, and stays. What the heck for? It really was a bit of overkill.

Was it what you thought it would be? Did the bike make the engine faster?

It won't really perform properly until you chop the steerer.

There are grams in there!

Goddamned that's pretty. And here all I wanted to do was update my old cannondale r500 with some new road parts (keep the frame, ditch everything else) and I'd be able to attempt to keep up with guys like you. guess not. *hangs head*

Recursive, already been chopped to the max ... and here's what the front end looks like with the new bar.

ColorChange sweet lookin bike! How do the Zipps handle in the crosswinds,do you train with them or do you have another set of wheels?I was thinking of getting some aero wheels but I read they don't handle well in the crosswinds.

ColorChange
12-05-08, 12:21 PM
Train with them too. They're a little tricky in the pace line if you have 25mph+ gusts, but you just have to pay attention. Only in gusts do you get affected but it's not a problem. I once got hit by 60+ gusts on a bridge in Michigan and thought I was going to get wet, seriously but I held it upright.

Psimet2001

I've only ridden with Zipp 404s on a handfull of occassions, but never really had any issues. Then again I have ridden with 30mm rims in really heavy winds before and never really have problems outside of all of the muscles on one side of your body getting worn out from holding the bike on line.

Like Colorchange mentioned the gusts are what surprise you and could cause problems if you're not exactly light on the saddle.

Does anyone like Mavic aero rims? These are there newest ones
http://www.mavic.com/road/products/cosmic-carbone-slr.995543.1.aspx

Besides tuning up my engine I read that if your going to change anything on your bike to improve speed, change your wheels.

I have been very pleased with my Mavic Carbone Premium's. A bit heavy but very stiff, fast and STRONG!!

The kickstand silly......

Putting a kickstand on a bike like that should result in a very fast execution. :notamused:

But anyways, you (op) had better hire some security guards, cuz someone is going to try to get that bike. :innocent:

That sort of thing is why I carry a pedal wrench in my bag when I commute. ;)

With the saddle all the way forward, relatively little drop and slightly downward sloping bars - are you sure that you have a good fit? How's the weight distribution?

I'm going to disagree with most of the posters here - I find the Cervelo design remarkably ugly. I'm sure it will go fast though.
