I completed my first metric century today, part of the reston century. I did it in ~3:45 with a flat, and two rest stops. It was great! After i was done it took me a couple of hours for the adrenilen vent and make me realize that i was infact tired :) I would will need to train for a real century becuase i dont think i can handle the down after the ride. Well.. i thought i would let you all know :)

Nice job man. I did a 52 mile group ride, partly group ride actually, yesterday. Always good to go longer than you normally do.

Thanks Tri, yea, i would venture to say that anything over 30 is a lot for most people. Until yesterday i had never don over 45 miles, and while 63 is not too many more its still a lot.
52 on a group ride... damn! here i think the AA's may do 40, but no more than that. Thats a lot of miles.

Congrats, Ross!!
I have not made it to the metric century mark. I did finish 49 mi of hills (near Bloomington IN) a week ago.
Maybe with new wheels ('04 Giant OCR2) it will be easier.

Congrats on the Century.
Sounds really intimidating to the uninitiated,
sounds really easy for the folks here,
in reality its somewhere in between.
Do I hear an Imperial coming down the pike?
:D

Good going, Ross! The first benchmark is the hardest--100 miles will seem like a snap, now.
