Living Car Free - What else are you *-free with?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What else are you *-free with?
Us car-free people are different, and it's not just that we prefer bicycles. We have less than common perspectives regarding health, politics, and sociocultural norms. So, what other things are we (common activity or object)-free.
I myself am:
Meat-free - Ecological and health reasons.
TV-free - Most of it is nonsense.
Partially Hydrogenated Oils-free - They are the devil (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans_fat#Health_risks).
Drug, tobacco & alcohol-free - Bad drugs are bad.
High Fructose Corn Syrup-lite - Often been called "Liquid Satan" (http://media.www.dailyemerald.com/media/storage/paper859/news/2007/10/26/News/Satan.Manifests.Itself.In.Food.With.High.Fructose.Corn.Syrup-3059737.shtml)
Excessive Packaging-lite - To reduce pollution. So what about you guys?
*Edit* Feel free to rant (as long as you do it kindly), and also if an explanation isn't mentioned, feel free to explain why you abstain for something.

I have no problem with many things...in moderation!:o
I do make homemade wine and beer (LOVE Microbrews)
No Coffee, No Workee (but it is shade grown organic fair trade)
I avoid additives, preservatives and manufactured "food"
I firmly believe the closer to the source the better as far as food is concerned. If I can't pronounce it I don't need to be eating it!
We try to live simply and well within our means. I do use CF's but am convinced they are not the greatest thing since sliced bread. We are putting in a cistern next year to trap rain water for the gardens, we use the minimal amount of chemicals necessary to grow our veggies and raise our chickens. We reduce, reuse and recycle on everything we can.

I love this thread. I can mix things I don't have but want in with things I'm proud of not owning, boosting my self esteem.
(Kidding)
Seriously:
Car lite (I'm working on it.)
Kid free (I don't care about the population. I just don't like children. They're noisy, smelly, and they leak, and I'm not willing to invest the time and the money.)
TV free (No! I'm not buying a TV, stop asking! Seriously, don't watch it for a month or six, come back to it, and try to figure out how you tolerated the commercials, especially now that you're no longer attached to the shallow characters and lame stories.)
Credit card free (Learned the hard way.)
Tobacco free (How do people start smoking in this day and age?)
I'd say I'm alcohol lite, but I had a Samichlaus (http://www.beerhunter.com/documents/19133-000100.html)last night that actually managed to get me drunk. While I"ll have one to three beers at dinner, I don't generally drink till I'm impaired. Worrying about getting home is not a fun way to spend the evening. I was just not prepared for 14% alcohol by volume. I hadn't read about it online before trying it.
I'd like to be high-fructose corn syrup free. I haven't made a habit of checking for it. I'm currently losing weight at a rate I'm comfortable with, so I'm not willing to mess with my diet right now. After I reach my target, I'll give it a try. It just seems like everything has it in there.

I used to be video game addicted, but not any more. Sure, I'll lose a couple weeks of me time whenever I buy a new Grand Theft Auto game, but I'll never skip going out to play a video game. My breaking point was about eight years ago, when I realized that I was cleaning a virtual apartment in The Sims, while sitting in my messy actual apartment.
These days, I'll fire up a casual game on the DS every month or two when I'm bored.

I tried that a few times, how do you do the neck-line? I've found it impossible to do the neck-line so when I cut my own hair I don't do it and it looks a little scruffy for two weeks. But the rest of the head is easy, just put a #4 guard on the clipper and run it over my head, then a #2 guard for the sides and back.

Ah, I didn't even think of that one. I haven't paid for a haircut since 1996. My girlfriends and I have learned how to trim each other's hair evenly. It's very easy with long hair that's all one length. Besides shampoo and conditioner, I don't purchase any styling products, either. The savings allowed me to afford a good quality pair of left-handed hair scissors, which makes the job even easier for me.

Well, I just cut my hair yesterday and at the neck line I used the 3/8" guard, and then just used scissors to get the little stragglers left behind at the very edges. On top, I just use scissors. Near the top of the sides and back I use the 1" guard and then I use a few of the other guards in between in order to get a nice even taper. Like I said though, I've been been doing it for seven years so I've had plenty of practice using scissors held at odd angles while looking at a reflection of a reflection of the back of my head. It just takes practice.

Its also really easy with short hair. I don't even bother with combs on my clippers, I go all the way down to the metal shears (I think its a '0'). Mrs Cyclaholic calls it the Kosovo refugee look.:D apparently it makes me look like a mean thug when I get a bit riled up. I can live with that.
