Folding Bikes - Raleigh RSW - Need your help ...

Well, its not the folded version ... but it DOES has small wheels :)
Anyway, I might trade my Raleigh Sprite with this bike and wanted to know if a 18K ride can be done using this bike ... It has SA 3-speeds hub.
The overall condition of the bike is similar to the Sprite - Old and has some rust but not too bad.
What do you say ???

Yes, it can, but it's not as rideable as a Raleigh 20. If you repost this in Classic and Vintage, there's a guy there called Viscount who is an RSW16 nut - he's done all sorts of riding on his. You might just want to PM him instead, since I'm sure he knows more about these bikes than anyone else on the boards.
18k would 18 km or 18,000? The first option is easy, provided you can get the saddle high enough. The second, not so much...

The usual compalint about the RSW is the weight, I think they clock in at 42lb, or 19kg.....
I got a RSW-16 for my wife to ride to work. It's the deluxe model with a dynohub and the lights are built into the mudguards... it's a real classic, looks great, everyone who sees it loves it. It is heavy, but it's very comfortable... I like to ride it myself, but I admit the farthest I've gone was about 8 km when I went out to get donuts for breakfast one morning. The RSW-16 is geared lower the other Raleigh three speeds, so it feels pretty zippy in comparison. Riding it 18 km should be no problem. One thing to note... the brakes are terrible ... but hey, they only slow you down anyway, right?
