Whats the expected turnout? Would love to go, but not worth the two hour drive if no one shows up.

I'll be there for sure, as it's only 10 miles from my home. Planning to ride there, unless conditions really suck... Hope the usual suspects show up, I might just upgrade to expert and ride for cash; If only 9 others enter I have a shot at top 10! I have a feeling there will be a good turnout though.

The course lay out was great! Lots of off camber grass and tight twisties. The runup was a lumpy/ grassy/muddy sled hill with a great descent straight to a muddy hairpin. The over night rain made it some wild stuff. One guy came sliding down, brakes locked front wheel tracking straight with the rear wheel at a 45 degree angle! He made it down safely and his rear wheel deposited a pile of grass and mud at the bottom. I'd definately do this race again. Plus the bike shop is right next door to a great coffee shop, just 2 minutes from the racesite.

At least 7-8 (visual est) times the prereg amount. I'm still waiting for the results to be posted online. I was surprised there weren't more since this was the first cx race with actual cx weather:) so far this season up here.

Yeah, I was a little surprised at how few riders were there... I left just after the expert field started, I had to get to work... but there was about 25 or so starters. Intermediate masters ran 14, and Intermediate only had 5 starters! But the course was excellent, lots of tight, offcamber turns, and the hill, OMG that hurt! Thought I was gonna vomit for sure a couple of times there... but the descent was so fast and fun! I was 9th on Master Intermed... plenty of room for improvement, as I slid out 4 -5 times on corners.... sorry I'm going on and on! CX rules!:D

I did the "A" race...23 riders started, which is a pretty average turnout for a Cleveland area cyclocross race, though I think this time some regular "B" racers got lured up to the A's for the guaranteed cash payout. The A race was absolutely brutal. I eneded up doing 15.9 miles in 1:23 averaging ~11.5mph. At some point I hit 29 mph...must have been going down the giant grass hill. I was the last finisher on the same lap as the leaders, which put me in 11th place. I'm guessing that 25% of the riders were down one lap and the final 25% didn't finish. I'm looking forward to seeing the final results when they get posted online.
