After riding used, old bikes for a long time, I finally bought my first new bike a few months ago. I was exactly 2 blocks into my first ride when I took a blind corner a bit too fast and came on an on-coming car filling the road. I hit the brakes so hard I went over the bars. But, I was so worried about scarring my beautiful bike that I held on tight to the bike. I, and my bike, did a complete flip and came down on my feet with the bike next to me on its wheels. Perfect landing! Not sure if the shocked driver was impressed or horrified by my act.
