So, i took a cheap single speed bike for a test ride today at a lbs, and fell in love. I was ready to take that one home with me today, but they dont have one (there isnt one made) in my size. So now im thinking about building up or looking for another single speed. I am trying to keep the cost low, so i was hoping to get a little help on where to look for the parts, or possibly an inexpensive bike. I have already searched ebay and google, and have some ideas, but i want to see what people who have had this intrest for awhile say.

i say get a single speed kit with a chain tensioner and spacers and build up a nice bike you like. either that or an entry level fixed.

get something with a flip-flop hub so you can go fixed or free.

Im 6', the frame i was trying was a SE Draft in 58cm. The standover height of the bike was great, but between the 49cm and the 58cm, it seemed all they changed was the standover height. My knee's were really way to close to the bars, and i felt like i was hanging over the front of the bike. A couple of the guys ive talked to since have had the same complaint. I am neither 7'1" or 3'2", i just refuse to spend money on a bike that doesnt fit, if i wanted to do that i would go to walmart, haha.
