Sure. We're not wedded to that date. We just need our December century to complete the year. I'll check the calendar and reconsider the date.

 Voltman aside, I think most of us don't like the hungover, dehydrated 100 mile ride thing. :p

I did like the idea of a Sunday Burrito century though :)

Odds are very good it will be on a Sunday. Stay tuned.

Okay, so judging from the interest here in this thread, it's going to be hard to find an overall happy medium in terms of where this should be held. Sooooo...

I was having dinner yesterday with Happygetluckylongtime, and she had a great suggestion. As much as I would like to make all people happy and get lots of people at the party, I fear that the Valleyites are not going to want to drive to Irvine and the San Diegans are not going to travel up above the orange curtain (except for a few exceptions in both camps). Therefore, how about a SPLIT Party? I'll organize one up more in this area on December 8th (sorry, I claim Tracy!) and someone in the OC or San Diego organize a second one (may even be on the same night if you want). That-a-way, everyone can go to a party/dinner if he/she wants, but no one feels as if they have to drive two hours both ways to attend. We can then post pics and such in the one big thread. We can basically cyber-attend both, but only physically attend the party closest to us so that no one feels left out.

Thoughts? Comments? Insults? Threats? :o

Okay, I've now decided that I'm not planning this, so officially this thread is defunct.

Sorry, but it's just too much trouble with too many conflicting comments. No doubt whether I plan one area or the other, folks aren't going to be happy. Others can plan in any area they choose and I can just show up if I want to.

Ahh...how nice that feels.

Tacy - I've PM'd you and would love to see you when you are in town.

Oh shush, you! We'll have the party/dinner on the Westside and if people don't want to come, they won't. That will just mean more chips and salsa for you, me and Trac'! :p

merider1
11-06-07, 10:48 AM
Ladies, I will happily let you know where dinner is, but I'm not planning an official Holiday Party. It's too much pressure and I'm not in the mood for that this year. I think sometimes folks on here don't get it when it comes to planning stuff. I threw out the option of two parties as I don't want to deal with trying to accommodate everyone and make everyone happy, and no one seemed all that interested. So, it's NOT official. When Trac is here (and assuming she still wants to have dinner with me :p), I'll just PM those who are interested and they can show up.

Now, if SOMEONE ELSE wants to plan an official BF So Cal party, by all means. :)

I don't mind planning one, and I'll make a few phone calls to find a suitable place. Because it's the holidays, I may have difficulty in finding a place that will accept a non-specific head count, without a deposit.

If I have to put down a per person deposit, I WILL ASK FOR A PAYPAL DEPOSIT for anyone RSVP'ing. When I planned Movie Night back in July, there were a couple of people who did not bother to show up, even though I purchased their ticket in advance. NOT NICE!!! (Luckily, I purchased enough advance tickets I was given a few comps, which meant I wasn't out any money.)

The restaurant will be in either Santa Monica, MDR or Manhattan Beach, which have easy freeway access off the 10 or 405 freeways. Early dinner on Saturday, December 8. I'll start a new thread as I get more details.

I applaud you, lady, as I've lost patience. And I can guarantee you I WILL show up and you choose the place. It may be you and me doing tequila shots...well, and Tracy. :D

EDIT: And Asia...

You don't have to go very far as there are a number of lesbian clubs (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/09/07/BAG7FL0HUI1.DTL) in the Bay Area!!!
