I was cleaning my new Pista Concept & I just noticed the decal near the bottom of the BB that reads: "100% Chick Designed" ... And it's got a cute little chicken with a ponytail. The Italians are too clever. I love my bike even more now. :D

My San Jose has the same sticker, but they were designed in America and made in Taiwan ;)

My San Jose does not have that sticker. Perhaps it was designed by the Swedish conglomerate that owns Bianchi? I can just imagine those engineers at work in Devo jumpsuits and white socks. Later, they hit the clubs and sip Zima while listening to ABBA singing "Fernando".

Should be on the backside of the seat tube just above the bottom bracket if I remember correctly. Designed by Sky Yeager who I believe was an American VP for the Bianchi.
Sky Yeager is correct. I believe she has moved on from Bianchi though. I want to say she went to Swobo or something, but that could be 100% wrong.

Sky Yeager, formerly with Bianchi, put together the parts package for the Pista and few other bikes, thus allowing her to somewhat truthfully put the Chick decal on those bikes.
I don't know that she didn't actually design the Pista's frame and fork, but I doubt that she did.
I don't have any original parts on my Pista, other than the frame and fork; nonetheless, I like the Chick decal on my Pista, and, if I ever refinished the bike, I would wonder how to preserve or replace the decal.
Sky Yeager has since moved on to SWOBO.

Why would you doubt that? Girls can't design bike frames?
Per Sheldon: (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/lasvegas/2007/index.html)
Sky was the bike designer for Bianchi U.S.A. for many years, and is responsible for the Volpe, the Boss, the Pista and many of Bianchi's other innovative models.
She's referred to the designer in many other references too.

depends what you consider "designed."
if you ask me, the pista's essentially been the same bike for over a hundred years. the san jose and volpe, while awesome bikes, are variations on existing designs. geometry has changed, and maybe sky had something to do with that, but i don't consider parts selection, chrome and stickers to be "design." some people do, and that's ok too. honorable men (and women) can differ.

yeah, she left bianchi, presumably because their standards of quality were too high and they wouldn't let her design the abominations that are swobo bikes.

Not at all.
I had assumed she might have "inherited" the frame and fork, but now that I've done a little research, I've begun to doubt that.
Give me a minute.
OK, Sky Yeager worked seventeen years at Bianchi as Production Manager.
When did the current Pista, with the sloping top tube and double-axis-flared downtube come into production?
If in the last 17 years or so, one can then assume Syk Yeager either designed it, or supervised its design.
I understand Sky Yeager welds frames.
Perhaps she put together the original prototype.
I'd like to know.
I'll keep researching this.

Sheldon Brown credits Sky Yeager with the Volpe, the Boss, and the Pista.
A SWOBO site credits Sky Yeager with the Milano and the Pista.
