I got first-hand knowledge that Renn is coming out with a track-specific disc in March-April of 2008. This is a PSA, you may now return to your regularly scheduled night of avoiding the Track Forum.

Great, more stuff I can't afford.
How do you expect us lurkers to comment when you don't even post any pics to ogle over?

but at least you'll be closer to affording them. I thought you had a disk anyway.

Well, Renn disc's range from $520-$590, and are 980-1100g. I only got the info through e-mail from Renn. Hopefully, they won't have that ugly aluminum rim on the track version, too.
::EDIT:: Added a link to the OP.
Ummmm, do these discs really make you faster??.... Anyone own one and want to testify to their brilliance?? Can .5 grand really make enough of a difference to justify them?

I can attest to their speed. I can only really compare them to regular spoked wheels that are less than 30mm deep, but you'll definetely notice a difference in speed.
To think about it, $600 is dirt cheap for any carbon wheel, even alone.

Cool. I'll put it in my 'Present to myself when I get a hefty pay-rise/promotion/new-job/cash-windfall' category. Which isn't likely but I can dream :)
An aero front wheel is probably going to do a lot more for you than a rear disc wheel. By the time the wind hits your rear wheel it's already a mess from your front wheel, legs, cranks, etc.

you're hed is probably better then the renn. The whole point of them is that they are cheap and get the job done.
