I'm a photographer and I went on tour this summer...I recently got a new mac and digital voice recorder for work, but decided to play around with it with some photos I took this summer...check it out here:
and heres the soundslide version:

Pretty cool. Now the tricky part, how exactly did you entice your girlfriend on the trip? I've been trying to get my lady to go on a hike or a longer bike tour for a while, with no avail.

Nice video. When will you have the rest of it put together?
And I like how you linked to the Google HTML version of the PDF on your website. I find mostly text PDFs very annoying.

I'm going to try to bang out the rest this week....maybe break it out into two more parts....I'm using it as an exercise to get the hang of podcasting and recording audio and making immersive slideshows and such....that's a mouthful..whew
Nice video! I look forward to seeing the rest.

Excellent! I'd like to do something like that myself for my next tour. I'll be waiting for the next installments. By the way, I've ridden down the coast twice, once from Seattle to Santa Cruz, and once from Portland to Crescent City. It's a wonderful tour that I'd do again. The second time I took the Amtrak from San Luis Obispo to Portland, so those scenes of the train brought back memories - mostly good, except for sleeping sitting up. Next time I'm going to spring for a sleeper.

Very nicely done!
(...and major props for you using your bike to conduct business--especially in car crazy SoCal)
BTW, did you bring your Xtracycle with you on tour? If so, how did you box it for the train ride?
And yea, even after 10 hours on Amtrak, I start to go stir-crazy.

i didn't bring the xtracycle...right before we left, I removed the xtracycle from the host trek 520 and outfitted the trek for the tour....i put the xtra on a gary fisher mountain bike that i got for free....i don't think it would have been too amtrak friendly and i didn't want to be bothered with assembling a bike while on tour....

I love the pictures and the excellent commentary! I can't wait to see the rest!
Very nice, good voice over. Though, I would have thought from your coments you would find the train real rather that sureal. Maybe if our reality is virtual, then a real step by step journey is sureal in comparison.
