Not sure if this is the best place to post it. I was thinking of posting this in the 'comuting' forum so the mods want to change location let me know.

Anyways I'm looking for winter heated gloves that run off AA batteries. I would like as many opinions, companies, and product links as possible to see what's out there. I've only seen a couple D cell gloves before which I did not like. I'm a AA person. Also I like the slimmer profile. 2xAA is preferred as I am not planning on using the heat 100% on all the time. I plan on turning the gloves on and off when I need it for the warm up if I need it.

I have xc-skied in -30C weather (not quickly but miles nonetheless). I used Pearl Izumi lobster mitts and my hands were totally warm. MEC sells some variation of them. People use them for cycling since you can still manipulate controls.

Polypropylene liner gloves are also very useful. I used Helly Hansen for years. Not pretty but effective.

Below that, I use PI gloves and for cold, wet conditions I have had good luck with cheap, MEC neoprene paddling gloves.

What causes cold is trapped moisture. Not sure how batteries would help with that.
