And I'm stuck at work until 6 PM tonight! It will be dark and cold when I get home! :( :(

I planned to go on a short ride for my lunch break, but I had to run errands. I just got back. My office doesn't even have a window!

I'll still try to put in at least a 15 mile ride tonight. I have Das Blinken Lights on me and the bike so I'm not worried. It is just that at least a part of the appeal of riding a bike is to enjoy the sun, the blue sky, and the beautiful scenery as it's passing by. We get none of that at night.

Anyway, do you guys think I ought to come down with a severe case of workitis which will necessitate me leaving early today? ;)

I really hate rubbing it in, but man oh man was I glad that I had the day off today.

I left Sammamish around 8:30am, a bit foggy but when I got to Redmond it was clear and beautiful.

Rode west on the 520 trail to 148th and made my way to the Evergreen Village Starbucks to drink coffee and stare at the most beautiful barista I've ever laid my eyes upon. She wasn't there, but the drip coffee still did the trick. Headed south on 140th and hung a right on 8th St. Rode around downtown Bellevue for a while, admiring the sea of construction cranes and single office women on their lunch break. Rode to Richards Road, over to Factoria and through Bellevue CC. From there I went north on 140th and up to 148th where I took the 520 trail back to Redmond. Through Marymoor Park, south on Eastlake Sammamish and up the hills back to the Sammamish Plateau. 41 miles, sunshine on my face and I smile that nothing could ever take away.

It's good to be alive!!!

twas dark very dark when I rode in but my shift is over at 2:00 and after I got home I took the continental for a ride around Sumner to get the feel of the new RD and my saddle since I installed the new post. The Brooks is a bit slippery but seems to be located just right and the RD works like butter. A really nice day to ride for sure

It was dark when I left the house this morning and it'll be dark when I leave work this evening. At noon I went to the gym, so it was a nice walk over there and (bonus) the chest press machine was sitting in a pool of sunlight. The view from the gym is fantastic. From there I can look out across the sound to the Olympics, watching the ferries and other vessels go in and out while I sweat.

I'm just hoping all the cagers are sane on the way home. Only 2 more months to the Winter Solstice!

Yep, that's the one. How pretty? The most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. She's about 5'3, 105. Dark hair, usually worn in a pony tail. Mesmerizing...
