Foo - Have you ever acted upon other BF'ers advice?

This was inspired by jhota's thread. After reading a recommendation from Allen G I'm going to buy this bike stand:

Yes I have. But in my case the object in question was made from carbon fiber, titanium and cost close to $200 dollars a pound. I hold them personally responsible also:eek:.

Heck yeah.....what have I purchased from other BFers advice?

My bike shoes.
My latest pedals (haven't put on yet)
The "alert shirts" (high-viz) I now use for every day commuting
Bibs (for weekend rides)
My new stem
My new seat post
My new handlebars


This place is FULL of people with great advice. I was such a noobie when I came here....Now I'm only a newbie.

I found a rack very similar at Lowe's for $50.00. Worked so go, I got two of them and placed them back to back and have the 4 bikes on the rack now. It great having them out of the way in the garage and still have easy access to them.

Yes, but I found out that sticking your tongue in a light socket isn't all its cracked up to be...

I was a lurker for quite awhile, until I actually decided to do my first build back in May...it's in my sig and yeah so many people helped me out. The only thing I have ever purchased without BF advice were the Aksiums I bout this year...

I got my shoes and pedals on recommendations here. I quit worrying about a small crack in my frame from feedback in this forum as well. I'm sure there's a lot of other stuff--I've learned so much from you guys in the short time I've been a member here. This is really a great community :)

You won't be disappointed. I have that stand, and have recommended it to several friends (at least one of which is a BF'er) and none have come to my door threatening to beat me over the head with it.
